User-centred Research and Design

Me - James D'Espaigne

Hi, my name is James D’Espaigne.

I’m currently working as a Senior User Experience Designer for one of the UK's big four banks. I’ve been involved in several roles in IT and the web industry for the past 8 years.

I like to observe human behaviour, take an empathetic view of a user, sketch, problem solve, collaborate, evolve and improve products. I'm a good communicator, organised and a personable individual who picks up new things fast. I'm always eager to extend my knowledge into new areas.

Abit more background

I graduated with a First Class BSc (Hons) Computing degree, completing my dissertation researching, designing and prototyping a mobile app for my previous employer that was awarded a prize for “Best Business Solution” by the University’s School of Computing.

I’m passionate about user-centred research and design, and have been since working for Flow Interactive, now known as Foolproof. This gave me the exposure and involvement with User Experience Consultants I needed to kick start my career. Prior to this, I worked throughout my gap year designing, developing and administering a number of websites for blue-chip clients. At 14, I started dabbling in web design and development and at 18, this was my first full time job in the industry.

If I still have your attention, thanks for taking time to drop by, feel free to send me a tweet on Twitter. If you need more than one hundred and forty characters you can always send me a message on LinkedIn.
